eight over eighty

Eight Over Eighty/The Tikkun Olam Award is a yearly event
sponsored by Jewish Apartments & Services honoring
eight senior adults, eighty years
or older who have
dedicated themselves to the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam; repairing the world.

This event is an annual fundraiser, benefiting residents of
all JAS buildings through the JAS Quality of Life Fund.
The fund provides for things not included in a resident’s
monthly rent, such as:

special transportation, Jewish cultural programming,
building beautification, and entertainment, exercise
programs, Butzel camp and more.

Each year the candidates are nominated by individuals in
the community, communal agencies and family members.
They are selected by a panel
of judges made up of diverse
members of the
community. If you’d like to nominate
someone for
Eight Over Eighty, the call for nominations
begins
October 1 of each year and ends on December 31.
